I'm really not sure if he's serious or if he's supposed to be funny (because he's not).
He's a self admitted casual who doesnt even make it to the end of a game if he doesnt like it, and just proceeds to call the game shit.
It could be the most amazing game ever but if its starts slow, he'll quit before the game gets any good and say "0/!0 its shit".
And the majority of criticism he provides literally comes from his misunderstanding of the game he plays.

Actually I think he's fedorable
He makes serious lengthy written reviews too. His Zero Punctuation short reviews are mostly for entertainment. He doesn't actually hate most of the games he plays I'm pretty sure. Just tries to shit on them as much as possible while being honest about their content and being humorous as well. Plus the fast pace of his reviews make them easier to enjoy.
I like them.
There are even games he genuinely likes and praises in his Zero Punctuation reviews, such as Psychonauts and Cave Story.
In his lengthier written reviews, he also seems to like Undertale.
He's a very picky man, but in truth he just enjoys making a show about shitting on video games as much as he can without being dishonest about their content. And that in itself is enjoyable.

Tumblr as a website isn't the problem, its the community. And the annoying parts of the community are avoidable. The site is mostly porn and random people reblogging shit they like anyways. Supporting Tumblr is hardly an issue and good content comes from there all the time. Hell, a lot of good Jap artists use it.

Okay, fuck that. The beginning of a game is pretty damn important because it sets the tone for the rest of the game. Pacing is important in any medium, and it gets neglected more often than it should.
