Just a heads up to anyone downgrading. When I used Menuhax 2.1 it caused a black screen of death and required a system restore, using themehax 1.2 to downgrade worked fine.

Been debating selling my bone for a n3dsxlto play xenoblade and SRW. I've fucked around with my psp and vita before with hacks but never a 3ds. What are the odds of this blowing up in my face and me losing a huge investment? I wouldn't consider myself stupid and I follow directions well.

Because I did to it and found out I can't access my badges on my SysNAND, none of the games I play record their time to SysNAND and instead record their time to EmuNAND, I can't play the shitty Pokemon Shuffle anymore and actually update it without jumping through hoops(and the time isn't counted on my SysNAND where I have over 200 hours on it), and so on.
Yeah, NTR CFW and rxTools are cool, but I need my activity log, Mii, streetpass, and so forth which EmuNAND forces me to completely restart to use it unless I keep them linked which is very unsafe.

Use whatever homebrew hack you already have no need to update. (download the updated starter.zip files and install menuhax because you're going to be rebooting a LOT)
Download the updater
Download the firmware for your console (read everything you're downloading)
extract firmware to Updates folder on root of SD card (where Nintendo also stores their firmware updates, another pitfall)
Run the exploit
Press Y
Remove and reformat SD card after install completes (unless you know where Menuhax is stored)
Ready for CFW
Wifi may need to be on.
