It is average at best, but issues like voice acting, plot or any motivation to complete side objectives other than 100% completion makes it worse in comparison to it's predecessor, which I felt was a sub par game to begin with, and it's contemporaries like the Uncharted series.

A simple rebuttle is the budget for each game. Bloodborne more than likely had a much smaller budget than Rise of the Tomb Raider.
So 1 million units for Bloodborne, not including the Old Hunters DLC was probably profitable.

It depends on the budget and advertising budget you retard.
For example, SMT4 sold like 500k copies or something but it was ridiculously profitable for them and one of their best hits outside of Persona, simply because the budget for it is low, and it got very little advertising.
Personally I didn't see a fraction of the ads for this tomb raider as the last one, and since they're working with the same engine and many of the assets they previously had, it's probably a lot cheaper.
Obviously we can't say for certain if it was profitable, and how profitable it was, but 1 million could be good or bad depending on a number of factors.

The GPU had over heating problems.
Luckily Microsoft extended the warranty everytime they sent you the 360 back after they repaired it, which happened to me about 7 times over the course of 5 years.
Eventually I bought the elite and it never overheated again.
The original PS3s all have overheating and laser issues now too, so the first gen of both consoles were dick when it comes to standards.
