Something has been really disturbing me about the DK rap.
It may seem innocent at the surface, but I think there's a hidden message trying to push some kind of agenda, or a dark plea for help buried in there somewhere; possibly both.
Firstly, Tiny's lyrics. "This Kong's got style, so listen up dudes" What is this trying to convey? That she is the only one who has style? Is it implying that males cannot, in fact, posses style? The use of "dudes" would lean to this interpretation, as that statement that she has style, so the men should listen implies that they are without style or possibly incapable of obtaining it.
However, there's another layer to this. It isn't simply saying that women have style and men do not. As it feels the need to state that "THIS kong has style." This phrasing would imply style is an abnormal thing that needs to be addressed if one has it.
There is a darker theme to it when we prod even deeper. Lankey Kong is introduced as "He has no style, He has no grace" Why would it feel the need to explain he does not posses style? It implies that at one point he did, in fact , have style. Could Tiny have somehow taken his style? They're both introduced right next to each other. If this is true, then who could have stolen his grace?
