Despite its shortcomings, I think BotFA at least got the, well, battles, spot on.
What are some games where I can play as a dwarf/dwarf squad/army of dwarves? Riding boars/bears/goats, phalanxes, hammering and axing people at the knees, full dwarf combat.
I know the rts games are a thing, are dwarves a faction?

Im not that guy, but I never played the dwarves much. If I remember correctly, the dwarves' units are generally average to mediocre except for their siege weapons, which are actually way way overpowered damage sponges

DDogma sort of works except you've the only two dwarves in the world and one of you has been lobotomised, and DA is well, shitty. And American.

As of now the dwarves are the most fleshed out with the most units and heroes.
Dwarves have quite a few melee units, 1 range, 1 cav, 1 siege and 1 flying unit.
