First off, there are many kind of cancers out there.
Yes, if you get diagnosed Ostheosarcoma or Leukemia at an advanced stage you're dead.
But stuff like Breast Cancer, Kidney Cancer and such can be cured if diagnosed at an early stage, my mother was cured by breast cancer because it wasn't as aggressive as it could get and so they cured it without many problems, took a year but it's been 10 years now and there are no chances of it striking again.
