Pick up a T.Flight HOTAS X, they are incredibly cheap and have plenty enough buttons for FC3 planes.
As for headtracking, you can either;

'cheap' is like $30-ish.
All you need is a webcam, some IR LEDs and something to attach them to.
There's some effort involved as you need to do some tinkering to make sure the webcam can 'see' the IR.
Like I said though, there are plenty of guides out there.
Pedals are helpful but not necessary (unless you plan on flying helicopters in which case they are pretty important).
A lot of sticks (including the T.flight) have a stick twist that can be used for rudder control so you're not missing out with not having pedals.

I played DCS with nothing more than a 360 pad, in a few months, after deciding that I like flying, I got a stick. After a few more months I got trackir, now I got pedals, and soon I will get throttle. If you want to play it then just go and fucking play it. Wanting to get all that expensive shit first is just an excuse. Firstly, you can fly airplanes alright with correctly setting up the saturation on the gamepad. You won't be competitive in MP, but it's ok in SP. Secondly, you don't want to spend a shitload of money on something that you may decide is not that fun for you in two weeks.

At the very beginning, around the time I threw the fairy down to explore that area with the red framed door, the shopkeeper had gone into his storeroom and will leave the door open. So, when I threw the fairy, she slid straight into the storeroom (the fairy heals you for a LOT, as you can see in part 3/4, so it was important to rescue her).
