It is great. Splitscreen is awesome, all my friends loved it
It's great to troll in as well as there is no anti bad behaviour system yet. I lost my pleasure to do 5 matches a day of scoring on my own team and playing goalie and defense for the opposition.
Have to admit it took me by surprise. It downloaded automatically on the ps4 and my girls saw it when I was putting a movie on for them on netflix. They asked me what it was, figured we might as well try it, five hours of winner-gets-next later I was rushing to feed them something so they didn't go to bed without eating.

My friends all started playing it and love it. They made me play it and I gave it 80 god damn hours of my time, but I never truly enjoyed it. Now they only ever play rocket league and none of the other games we all used to play together. Rocket League literally fucked up my gaming life and that's why I will always consider it my worse game of 2015/16. Not only is it bad, it detracts from the fun of OTHER games as well.

The soundtrack is fucking garbage though, and no music during gameplay, even the smallest loop of some digital instruments or something detracts from the game.
But holy fuck everytime I go to the menu, that one song with that girl singing. Fuck, that song is terrible.

I've found myself driving backwards to try to catch up with a sudden change in ball movement. Drifting is a good way to get going forward again without losing a whole lot of speed.
Also good for positioning, way better than trying to just drive normally. Blocking, for example. If you're chasing the ball down field towards your goal, getting just in front of it, drifting hard to the side and jumping up makes for a decent save.
