It was almost like a puzzle that at the time was magical and still super interesting, the setting was so alien and even today it's still pretty alien as far as RPGs go and it was just one big ongoing mystery of exploring, finding caves and tombs too badass for your level and finding awesome things throughout the world and doing quests.

I go back every few years and play through Morrowind again with different characters, it tends to start out rough and clunky but after like an hour or two you naturally stop thinking about a lot of those things in regards to how they aged and you just enjoy it for what it is.

My first playthrough, you end up in some sort of abandoned village with what looks like some sort of tower/grain elevator thing and there is a dead stalker just outside of it. It was dark in the game and raining. As I was walking to the dead stalker, I hear the sounds of the bloodsucker around. I turn around (all I had for ammo was the pump action shotgun). I look around, see nothing, and continue. Go up the winding stairs, find some stuff, come back down and hear it again. This time I see something run past (glowing). Sure enough, I get attacked, twice. There were two of them. And all I could see were their glowing eyes.
