i really was, but after playing through talos principle i realized puzzle games are not really my thing. in talos principle i constantly wanted to skip puzzles because it was just not interesting for me to solve them, and there were way too many of them for my taste. this fucking game will have 500+ different puzzles and you probably need all of them to know about everything there is in the game story or lore wise.

Puzzle games get me wet, but this was announced so long ago I'm pretty sure it's facing serious production issues.

The only one i can think of is the Talos Principle and Antichamber, and Antichamber doesn't even have a backstory, are there any more?

I really enjoy playing talos principle, this one looks like more of the same but even more comfy.
I'll do just like I did with talos and buy it in a year when it's cheaper, and play through it completely blind, while laying on my bed.
Just checked the release date, I could have sworn it was going to be a timed exclusive for PS4. Am I remembering wrong?

Yes. Though exploring the island seems way more interesting than the actual puzzles themselves.
Is there an update on its release date? I loved Braid. I have doubts about this though but will still be there day one.

Talos Principle had too much filler puzzles to introduce new elements for you. It's a flaw, not all puzzle games require you to drag yourself through that shit.
