The only reason he was made was because he didnt' nearly take as much effort as Mewtwo. Roy borrows almost all of Marth's animations, with the rest being mild tweaks like the hand positions.

To be honest senpai, I was mulling over Elma vs Corrin the other day and really she'd be a less technical Shulk with a few gun moves and no bastard range. Her 2 signatures are Shadowstrike, which is literally just a fancy Backslash, and Ghost Factory which would undoubtedly translate into yet another counter in Smash. She'd probably get Sliding Slinger as a side or neutral special and then they'd have to steal a longsword art to give her air for the up special, either that or put Shadowstrike there and have it behave sorta like Cloud/Ike/Kirby's. Then the rest would be more or less generic swordplay, possibly with some gunplay mixed in which is what Bayonetta will be doing anyways but better.
I like Elma more than Corrin but I feel if it came down to those 2, the right call would be Corrin regardless of representative inflation.

Smash only has the amount of characters it does because so many movesets are similar to one another. Counter has become inexcusable at this point but it's always been a mainstay if you look at movesets. Ignoring frame data, how many "unique" back airs can you really pick out?
Elma would probably resemble Bayonetta more in theory. Sliding Slinger is kind of similar to Bayonetta's Side-B and Ghostwalker or Factory makes me think of Bayonetta's Witch Time. An Overdrive Final Smash where your moves have little to no ending lag would have been amazing.
