The gameplay really isn't bad. When I've asked what makes it so bad people tell me its because of Quen+Dodge spam

you do not have to play the game that way. I used nearly every sign and sign alteration. I used counters and parries, I used the power attacks and yes both types of dodges. Is it Devil May Cry? No. But it is sure as fuck better than Elder Scrolls combat.
