Can someone help me? I bought this on a PSN sale last February for 5 bucks and I couldn't get myself to enjoy it. I played for a few hours and then got to a part where I need to wrangle some cattle by the hanging tree, if I recall correctly. I thought it might just be that I don't like open world games but I am playing MGSV now and love it. When does RDR start to sink its hooks in? Is there some background I don't have about it that makes you guys love it so much?

I honestly love the aesthetic but a lot of RDR seems like the kind of thing that drives me away from GTA games. with absolute freedom, I often choose to do nothing. There's so much to do that I really just end up stealing cars and getting chased by the cops in GTA games, but this doesn't even give you that option since you only have your horse.
