Because they keep adding monsters with mobility and capcom's mentality is more difficult = more mobile, meanwhile the GL has the least mobility of all the weapons, and is utter shit for anything but the most stationary, early-game foes, such as Arzuros, Lagombi, R.Ludroth, and the raptors.

I was slightly disappointed considering it was an Ultimate version (cash-in), and instead of fixing 4's issues, it added more of its own.
I am happy to see they fixed a lot of this shit with Cross, but then they made a step backwards once again and removed the G-rank.
It's like gamefreak's pokemon: they add something, and remove something else so that they can add it back in the next cash-ins to make it seem like it's superior. It's getting irritating.

It is bad, but you can use the avoidance skill to move further with side- and backstep.

Compared to other weapons. GL doesn't have a big unsheathe move, and relies on long chain-strings insteads, meaning that whenever you need to stop early, you lost all your damage as opposed to, going back to the GS, the choice to do your basic unsheathe strong hit and move out.
Try to have at least a few thousands hours into the game before you argue weapons, I'm sorry the GL is your favourite weapon, go complain at capcom, not me.

It isn't. It's good enough to be used and is viable end game. But you'll never go for a kill as quick as with other weapons. Never used lance, but it has the charge at least.

On a funny note, they didn't program a climbing animation for Uragaan. When Uragaan faces a high wall all it will do is chuck rocks at it, eventually give up, and leave the area. The Volcanic Hollow is also so awfully connected that Brute wyverns teleport through it via digging. Uragaan and Dinovaldo both teleport from one side of the map to another instead of the connected zone when they dig.

Oh don't get me wrong I ador the concept, it's just that he's poorly implemented, he's too tall for the game and the camera bugs out a large amount of time against him, not to mention how easily it is to get trapped in his anatomy and the way he moves in a weird, unpredictable way that trips you all the time. On top of that attacking him feels really unsatisfying
