I'd rather have porn of Spike from AE than Sony making the name "Playstation" look more ironic than ever.

Seriously whoever made Ape Escape knows how to make good shotas.

And lolis.

>its like 3D

Yeah, this will end well im sure.

People against VR are welcome to name the next big step in entertainment, if VR isn't it.

I'm waiting.
>>
>>322279481
>against VR
No one is against VR

They just realize it is a niche market and wont be as big as the advertising is pretending it will be.
>>
>>322279481
>People against a thing HAVE to name its successor or else they have no right to complain
Go back to school you underage twat. No one 18 or over can be as stupid as you.
>>
>>322279605
The literal future of entertainment is a niche market.

Go back to school kiddo.

>>322279628
That's not what that means at all. It means that if you think VR is bad and is going to fail, what is there to take its place? Industries evolve.

All the people complaining about VR not being the future of movies obviously have never tried porn in VR. It's fucking incredible.

You retards realize that Sony does more than just games right? They have a multibillion dollar Hollywood movie company as well, sorry your precious Steam or Nintendo will never be as successful as based Sony is.

Depends on whether or not you count selling their own property as "in real estate".

>>
You know, VR movies are a thing.

What, did you think VR was only for games?

As a platform for VR content, they'd kinda be stupid not to include them.
>>
>>322283947
It's trash, but the good kind, like it knows its trash and just has fun with it. It's my favourite robot movie but calling it "the best robot movie" is probably insulting to some actually good films.
>>
>>322278471
What did you expect? It's a PS4, it doesn't have the power for complex games. Just like GearVR depends on a lot of video content, the PS4 will depend on that as well, because that's a lot easier to achieve than 1080p @120fps even with interpolation.

This, it's the future. We didn't have the tech to make it work practically in the 90s, but now we're just getting to the point where we can.

I'm a huge VR evangelist, so I'm gonna go ahead and shill for the tech for a bit, don't mind me.

>>322279605
A niche market at first, sure, but give it a couple years for the technology to settle into the mass market and be more affordable, and we've got the next big thing on the horizon. The feeling of presence that VR gives isn't in any other medium, and the possibilities in both a practical and entertainment sense are ridiculous.

Normies dont like videogames and Sony need push 3D movies in VR devices
>>
>>322280098
It's not. There is tons of money being pumped into VR movies in California right now. Retard investors actually think it's what people want.

And where there's money, there's whore publishers to eat it up.
>>
>>322285714
What's your definition of virtual reality?

>>322285946
Investing isn't about figuring out what people want right now, it's about figuring out what people are going to want.

When the tech has a year or two to sink in, people are going to start wondering what these things can be used for other than games - and there's already a shitload of non-vidya uses for the technology, like VR movies. It's still very much a developing industry - I don't think there's going to be anything of note cinematically coming out of it for a few years - but what matters is that the groundwork gets laid, and this stuff gets made in time for people to hopefully figure out that it is actually damn cool, and they do want it.
>>
>>322286747
>What's your definition of virtual reality?
Not looking through a screen that's just close to my face bud.
>>
>>322286747
A brick on your face is not cool. It's a waste of fucking money.

Nobody who's put on a Rift or Vive in the past year has described the experience as a "screen that's just close to my face" or "a brick".

The stereoscopic 3D effect, combined with the lenses, makes it look like you aren't even looking at a screen. The screen-door effect of low-resolution displays is all but gone.

I know how tempting it is to shit on new tech. I've done it, I was skeptical about VR, too. But then I tried it.

It's just something that's impossible to judge accurately without actually experiencing what it has to offer firsthand.

>shill
You know, I wish I was getting paid to do this.
You hear that, Palmer?
Really, though- don't believe me? Look up any number of CV1 impressions. There's a shitload of people reacting to/giving their impressions of the tech.

I realize that once you've resorted to calling me a shill I'm probably not going to change your mind, but maybe someone else can.

>>
>>322279481
I ain't against it, I just don't give a shit. None of the stuff I play would benefit from VR.
