Tell me /v/
Why aren't you playing beyond earth?
>>322226774
No white race
>>322226774
Can someone explain to me how that's peaceful?
>>322226774
because its literally a Civ 5 mod
>>322226830
It has a white race, many actually.
Because it was incredibly boring and uninspired.
>>322226912
>because its literally a Civ 5 mod
If it was a CIV 5 Mod then why doesn't have many of the features that CIV 5 has?
You don't play CIV Much do you?
>>322227015
>If it was a CIV 5 Mod then why doesn't have many of the features that CIV 5 has?
>>322227015
all the Civ 5 framework is there. there's 'hidden' UI assets and systems everywhere. on a technical level, its merely a 60 dollar mod
YOU don't play civ much, do you?
Because Endless Legend is better game.
>>322227015
>If it was a CIV 5 Mod then why doesn't have many of the features that CIV 5 has?
Because it's a cashgrab?
alpha centauri is better
>>322227272
>>322227272
And purity won the day..
>>322227015
Underrated kek
>>322226830
>Not playing Mecha Scotland
>Not building a gate back to earth to "Free" humanity from their weak fleshy bodies
>Not forcibly uploading people into the matrix
Its like you dont want to be mecha-hitler
>>322226774
because it is shit
>>322227313
So..
Your saying it is a different game but your calling it a mod because it runs on the same engine? Wow! Amazing your an idiot.
They play completely differently in terms of game mechanics and even look completely different, I don't remember CIV 5 having a tech web do you?
>>322227492
I'm amazed mecha hitler isn't a workshop AI.
>>322227313
All video games are cashgrabs kiddo
>>322227643
>Your saying it is a different game but your calling it a mod because it runs on the same engine?
Uhh, no? I said it was a cashgrab
>I don't remember CIV 5 having a tech web do you
I guess that justifies 60 dollar release, okay.
>>322227730
Yeah, all consumer products are made to be sold, you're not amusing or insightful for saying redundant shit.
>No Anglo faction
No buy
>>322227313
Implying that making a game on any engine instantly makes it a reskin of the first game made on that engine.
I guess to you, all games on unreal engine 4 are just unreal tournament. It may look completely different and be a RTS but its actually just UT.
>>322227941
Choose your gear guys.
Because I am playing the far superior SMAC
I kinda wish the units from BE were ported to Civ5 as a new future era
>>322228185
Free worker or go home.
>>322226774
Because its shit, theres frustrating outpost/alien spam in the beginning of the game, and the computers AI is retarded and sucks late game so its not worth fighting through all the early game bullshit to get to it.
>>322226774
Laughably bad AI that wasn't properly reworked for the DLC. There are so many synergies that just break the game and the AI has no idea what to do with them.
>>322228185
>>322230037
This guy gets it, Teutonic Worker is risky but can pay out really well with a bit of luck.
>>322230037
>>322232558
I tend to pick client not worker.
Bought it and Civ 5, prefer Civ 5 mainly because i've never played a Civ game before and it's a lot easier to figure out what's going on because stuff is far more familiar than weird robot shit
>>322226774
Because Internet connection is very poor in other planets
>>322227374
>there are people that play anything but purity
disgusting
>>322234291
I only play purity, Lev tanks are great because you can bring down the hammer from unsuspecting areas like mountains.
>>322232649
>client
Do you mean clinic? Having the worker first means you can increase your food or production output from the get-go.
At the start, workers typically take 14-18 turns to build, and clinics take 10-12 (IIRC). Bearing in mind you can improve that build time far faster with the worker (as opposed to getting the worker build time down with population growth), the worker certainly makes more sense there.
The thing the clinic does give you is the +1 science in the early game, but this pales in comparison to having a higher population city faster (remember that pop = more science).
I take the worker over the free +1 pop that one of the other choices gives because with the immediate worker you should be reaching pop 2 in your first city by turn 6-8 anyway, and the worker means this growth starts to perpetuate quicker.

Oh god, that Roving Jew.
>>322226774
angry joe put it on the most disappointing games of 2014, so why should i play it? it's probably shit
>go Hybrid
>my cities look like someone ate a carton of crayons and then puked it all up
That's why.
>>322226774
because it was shit and did barely anything to expand upon pre-existing features that were in civ 5
it should have just been called Civ 5: Beyond Earth and be a standalone expansion
>>322235396
>angry joe
I played one full game of it during its free weekend. I figured that was enough for me.
>>322226774
how's the expansion, been told it makes the game a lot better and its around a tenner on cjs atm
because it's god-dam fucking bad
I ADORE sci-fi and I've read it all, from Dune to Roadside Picnic, and this game is a disgusting flavour of sci-fi that I can't handle. The characters are like something you would see on TV in the background of the Simpsons, they're all so clearly "inspired by..." it makes me choke. I don't know how they managed to make a futuristic post-apoc-ish earth and its attempts to save itself so boring. I just couldn't take it, I played three games then had to quit. Awful. Awful.
And fuck me the gameplay is literally a modded CivV
angriest I've got at a game in about 6 years and I have 5+ hours on super hexagon
will never forgive firaxis for creating such a piece of trash
>Why aren't you playing beyond earth?
Steam locked.
Fraxis themselves admitted they fucked up with BE, so why bother?
>>322235719
This so much.
The characters and setting was just wrong, the design choices made me cringe. I could have stomached a modded Civ V because Civ V is an actual good game, but the way they dressed BE up just made me hate it.
>>322235719
>Dune to Roadside Picnic
So just the popular shit?
>game about countries landing cities on other planets and trying to survive its ecology
xenoblade x mod when
>>322235719
>I have 5+ hours on super hexagon
>get super hexagon from a friend
>clear 5/6 levels
>friends are impressed
>can't clear the fucking last one
>want my friends to be impressed
>I use cheat engine to slow the game down to make it easier than the first level in the fucking game
forgive me father for i have sinned
>>322235719
>>322235924
>Characters
Even calling them cutboards would be a disgrace
>>322226774
>Why aren't you playing beyond earth?
lol
>buy £60 worth of expansion packs to flesh out the game to the level that it should have just been released at in the first place
Not falling for that again firaxis. I'll buy it in a few years when it's actually a full product at a decent price
>>322235396
daily reminder angry joe is the only true video game journalist
