We finally got Yakuza 5 and TIS-100 is dank, and there were a couple other games that weren't complete shit. Better year than 2012.
Pretty terrible. The only big release I completed was Bloodborne. Everything from Fallout 4 to MGS5 to even Xenoblade were all massive disappointments. I just had to stop playing them since they were all so dull.
Between a bunch of good-ass indie games and a sliding scale of AAA releases, I'd say it was a good year for video games overall. Better than 2016 so far, anyway.

I think the games I spent the most time with this year were Monster Hunter and Splatoon.
There was a minor Kickstarter cRPG revival PC that I was really hyped for, but I can't get into any of them. I've played a few hours each of Divinity/Shadowrun/Pillars of Eternity, but for some reason it's just not clicking for me.

Capital controls are video games, for months it was impossible to make any kind of payment online, we couldn't buy video games, renew subscriptions or take advantage of Steam sales.

It was really no different from any other year. Good games came out, shit games came out, some glitchy / unoptimized games came out, some were overrated, and some were underrated.
The only difference is in the playerbase. There's more bisexual liberals trying to voice their opinions online than ever before. From a video game perspective it's been a better year than most recently, and a lot came out I enjoyed. Splatoon / BB / W3 / MGS V and the DLC for Shovel Knight deserve mentioning. Also Yokai Watch got localized and I really like that series.
