Funny, because I love the Water temple theme, you get an awesome item there, you have one of the cooler miniboss battles there, you meet your sexy fish waifu there and the main boss has boner inducing official art.
I'd say Water temple is wayyy better on the remake. Making Fire temple my least favourite part in retrospect.

I wouldn't say that the story is particularly bad but it's not exactly good. I like it because it's goofy and it moves at an OK pace but from what I've played so far, just got the S rank license or whatever, it's just kinda there to make you do battles.

The entire beginning is extremely long winded dude. I love Custom Robo and have played it through a few times, but that first part is almost as bad as starting Final Fantasy 9. It takes like 3 hours before the game actually lets you loose.

I'd have to agree that a lot of the start so far has been tutorials. Maybe when you get to the battle tournament is when it starts feeling less like a tutorial, but you're still getting 2v2 battles explained to you.
I guess the exposition probably ends at the point where you get your S license and it turns out that there's more to the world than meets tthe eye.

Stealing a jetpack really helps in speed runs.
Stealing can also be fun by itself if you have done everything.
