You can talk about Myst/Riven too in this thread or maybe even older games by Cyan (unlikely anyone played them here, myself included). There's also TV series based on Myst in the works but there's no news about that. Possible new Myst game in relation to that hinted.

The original release was supposed to be in December.
The devs got delayed because they wanted to include more content than originally planned and try to get a publisher to probably fund them. The publisher thing didn't work out so now they're stuck making new content and hd to delay the release.

They did the stupid thing and agreed to a publishing deal before anything had been signed in writing. The publisher then re-negged after they'd spent ages expanding the came on money they didn't have.
Their own fault, desu. Almost as bad as Double Fine.

Sounds like it's a mostly different team to Cyan of old. Only Rand and Robyn and maybe a couple of others are from the old days. New team is a band of actual furries from wh at I've heard.

its an issue with a lot of the kikestarters. Lead designers of old are all there, but the guys on the shop floor just arent, they are just cheap recent grads and it shows in elements of the product design.

Cyan has been adapting through the years, it never stayed same sized. They also released plenty of ports of their original titles to new mobile platforms so that helped them get through the last years.

Robyn is joining for the music. He hasn't been with Cyan since Riven. I remember reading he got tired of video game development by that point.

Judging by starting years about 30% of it is there for Obduction first. The rest were from various phases and have definitely had a hand in developing Myst games.
