You forgot that time Brad forced her to kill a guy. Also, think of her position on the Marty situation. This (apparently) nice old dude picks her up, and suddenly your weird kung fu dad bursts through the door and fucking punches him to death, hurting you in the process.
Buddy's character is completely understandable. If you're going to compain about her being an "edgelord that kills innocent people" you also forget the time Brad did that exact same thing. It's all written really cohesively.
I don't know what the problem is honestly.
Lisa The Joyful is fucking terrible story-wise and should be ignored.

Brad's actions are barely justifiable, and that's only because people relate to the "Fuck up trying to get a second chance at all costs" story more.
There's no way to spin it around m8. There are pretty much 0 good people in LISA. Even the titular character herself was emotionally abusive and manipulative.

The guy you're talking about is Buzzo. He was Lisa's boyfriend back then. She did a lot of fucked up things to him, including making him kill an animal with his saw to "prepare" him to cut her face so Marty wouldn't like her anymore. This, coupled with Joy hallucinations later in life made him believe that Brad was somehow at fault for everything that happened to Lisa and how she treated him as a result. It's kind of an abuse cycle.
