I got 300 hours on it and haven't even finished the post game material. I have more 3ds games now, but I used to refer to my 3ds as my rf4 machine, because that was it's only use for over a year.

This is what kept me playing it for so long. I had the freedom to come up with big farming projects, and I'd totally forget that I had quests and dungeons to get through. In hard mode it becomes a necessity to tool up after almost every dungeon, making use of the crafting system that dips it's fingers in every other aspect of the game. Bouncing back and forth between different these different styles feels seamless and natural.
And I was legitimately surprised by the amount of dialogue in the game. Hundreds of hours into the game and I was still seeing new scenes and interactions between the townsfolk and myself.
