I really wanted to play Valkyria Chronicles, but when I learned that player skill had zero influence on whether or not you got hit by bullets, I decided to just watch a YouTube playthrough. And I'm glad I did, because the RPG elements are just WAY too much.

No other way is viable. I can either waste 5 moves crippling a tank's tracks, or get behind one and destroy it in 2. And at that point, I might as well use a shocktrooper. Poor lancers became my dump class as soon as I realized this. Even the mortars are outclassed by flamethrowers, the entier class is useless.

Alicia is easily the best scout because of her fuckin plot relevance and no negative personality effects. And of course her ability to add one turn to every round just like the other commanding characters. There are a handful of scouts who come close though. Minus that last bit.

Yes, story missions are repeatable on NG+. You just have to go through the story again to unlock the missions. Luckily, you won't have to watch the cutscenes anymore and can just skip straight to the mission for that chapter.

I don't know why people are complaining about RNG. When you aim you see the circle that shows where the shot could hit. He had empty space above the tank and a bit to the side. If the reticule was fully on the tank the shots a 100% chance hit. It's just like in XCOM when you miss a 95% hit. Just because it was high doesn't mean it's 100%.

It straight up tells you that most of the AT rockets have D and C rank accuracy. Also, you only notice the misses more because they are 1 shot weapons. Learn the effective range of the rockets (5 feet away) and use them that way. They aren't sniper rifles no matter how hard you want them to be.

It's the biggest flaw. Around the halfway mark they stop recycling maps from VC2 but you still have plenty of reused maps from previous chapters. It's the best in the series overall so if you can stick with it I would recommend it.
