I honestly don't think there's another developer in the business who does action games quite like Platinum Games.
The only real competitors are Capcom's Devil May Cry team and Team Ninja and neither are even really making action games at this moment.

You know, Mikami never should've left Platinum when he did. He really should've stayed and lobbied for Vanquish 2 to be made. It's not like The Evil Within was that great anyway.
He either should've stayed and given us Vanquish 2 OR even with him gone, Platinum should make a spiritual successor. I would love to see them try their hand at another third-person shooter. At least Transformers: Devastation has some TPS elements to it to make it fresh as a character action game.

Literally make action games because no one else makes them anymore. It's a shame, I love Platinum but they could be so much better if they had some healthy competition. Hopefully Ni-Oh revitalizes Team Ninja

I was just thinking about this awhile ago. I would love to play it, but I'd prefer if it were something that were more of a straight up mech game, like the Armored Core series or ZoE2, but with weight and physics that were somewhere between being slightly realistic and still anime as fuck.
I think just generally, it'd be amazing for Platinum to make a mecha game. That's a genre of sorts that they haven't tackled yet.In terms of licensed games, I would love to see a Superman game made by them with a proper budget and completely original gameplay.
What are your thoughts/hopes for this game?
I hope Kamiya delivers on his promise and makes the scale of the game impressive. As I imagine it, even regular enemies in this game are going to be boss-sized, and you'll be regularly defeating more and more of them as the game goes on, but actual bosses will be utterly massive in scale. Like GoW Titan-sized, with said bosses also throwing those same huge enemies at you, so that everything is impressive in scale.
I think they really should've shown gameplay that were actually unique and different rather than just typical WRPG/MH shit.

I mean, for starters, it's Xbone exclusive and I probably won't be owning one of those any time soon.
But aside from even that, I do agree that its reveal was lackluster. The gameplay they showed really didn't look that enticing. I'm glad Platinum is kinda trying out new things but I'm kinda 'eh' on it myself.
I have faith in Platinum and Kamiya though.
