3's campaign was far better than 2's. The scripted scarab fight, smaller levels, and MGSV-tier "ending" held it back.
Halo 5 improved on a lot of aspects as far as multilayer goes, however the franchise is dead for nearly everyone that didn't play the hell out of it before. The main thing that people tend to forget about Halo is that the community is what made the games. They were never phenomenonal games to just go play, but having long nights with your friends forging or doing some stupid shit like rocket race or those miles maps where you had to try to jump places and shit. That is what made the games. In terms of pure competition and multilayer engine, Halo 5 probably is the best.
im playing reach on my bone right now

>lost my copy of Legendary Edition Halo 3
>get a cheap copy in a gray case with a printout paper insert ($3)
>try going to Heroic to see if I remember this game as well as I used to
>die a hundred times on the first campaign mission
>mfw I can't do any of the cool shit like I used to anymore
>tfw can't do grenade jumps anymore
>tfw all that time I spent prefecting my skill with the sniper rifle is gone
>game disc craps out on me after 30 minutes
At least I can get it cleaned for free with the receipt, but holy hell I feel old now

I played4. I thought 4 was alright, although it didn't seem to "continue the fight".
