A part of the game is fucking brilliant and the other fucking sucks.
So in the final balance its an "average" game, but if you can handle the very bad things and focus on the very good things, its a very good game.

You can really play any one, they all hold up well except for maybe I and II.
III and V are usually seen as the best.
Dragon Quest: Rocket slime is also a fucking amazing spinoff that is one of my favorite DS games.
