I know the obvious response is going to be "you didn't play Witcher 1/2, therefore you have no right to comment on Witcher 3, FAGGOT." (Obviously, the following statement is just going to get me labeled as a "kojimafag," but that just goes to show how sensitive some Witcher fans are) I honestly enjoyed the story and characters of MGS5 better, and I'd never played a Metal Gear game before 5. A good game should be enjoyable to everybody: be it a longtime fan or newcomer. And the boring story/world wouldn't matter as much if the game play was worth a damn. However, it isn't. Honestly, the only enjoyable part of Witcher 3 was gwent.

The only thing affected by me not playing the previous games in the witcher series is not knowing the story. Same goes for MGS5. However, the gameplay of witcher is boring. MGS5 was a blast.

the game had so much potential for multiple side stories and for fleshing out the lore and backstory of the world, instead we get standard From bullshit of incoherent often contradictory scraps of environmental exposition

Playing MGSV is like watching my best friend dying a slowly painful death, it's like watch the dog who grow up with you die.

Keyword: better. I still felt like the story was just looking for excuses to take Big Boss to interesting locations. However, it was more enjoyable to me than Witcher. It's great if Witcher delivered on the story end to fans of the series, but even gameplay-wise, it did nothing for me.

Turn up the difficulty and try to learn how to play it right. You're probably sticking to a single sign and just mashing your way through like an idiot. Try to do that anywhere above default difficulty and you're gonna get fucking wrecked.

So either you're full of shit and trolling, or you just can't get into open world RPG's, because this game has fucking great secondary quests.
Also while the combat is pretty rad (you're an idiot), the game is very story driven and has a lot to do with getting immersed in the atmosphere. If you were looking for a game that's primarily about jumping into combat all the time, then you're playing the wrong game. Not the game's fault. Yours.
