I don't get it either. I bought KH1.5 for PS3 but I got sick of it after reaching Tarzan's jungle. As a kid I enjoyed the shit out of this game... I just can't anymore.

Actually Agrabah is the worst when it comes to backtracking but it took until KH2 for everyone to get sick of that world

I've played most of them but I only borrowed kh1 from a friend when I was young. Didn't remember anything from it when I got 1.5 and fuck the game was so clunky, and the lack of minimap showing where the doors are made me spend almost two hours (might be exaggerating somewhat) in atlantica before I found out that where I was supposed to go was behind some random rock.
KH2 on the other hand is one of my fav games. Story gets pretty stupid anime-ish, so if you have a low anime-tolerance like I do it might feel pretty sille sometimes, but the disney stuff balance the jap-stuff out pretty well.
Gameplay is super fun, bosses are great. You should get the 2.5 edition which has loads of extra content + BBS which is also good. Load times suck though and theres no "retry" button after dying to a boss for kh2 which means you have to go trough like three loading screens between each try, which Is why I haven't defeated all the 14 super-difficult endgame bosses yet
