Motionjoy makes a DS4 act like a 360 pad for that reason.
Any modern controller can use xinput. If you still use something old enough that it only supports dinput you can find a million wrappers on the internet.

SCP initially seemed like it was better, but because it works using a UDP loopback adapter it can have inputs get dropped/stuck, which means it has a major technical failing
motionjoy + ds3tool remains the best thing.

Controllers are used for Dark Souls only, everything else is better with kb+m
The Xbox gamepad has like 95% of the market share. The other 5% is split between like a hundred other controllers. I'd rather devs spend their time somewhere more important. If you have a preferred gamepad, you should know how to configure it yourself by now.

Mouse keyboard is too overpowered in fps games. It takes literally NO SKILL to play those games because the mouse turns the game in to a Point and Click to win shooter.
Playing with a dual analog controller is more satisfying. Not only does it have a higher learning curve (and takes TIME to get proficient with it) it also requires SKILL.
But the major reason is comfort. I can use the controller seated comfortably on my couch with my feet up wheras pc enthusiasts have to sit bolt upright at their desk like they have a stick up their ass.
Naturally, controller is the best way to play video under every circumstances. Wouldn't you agree?

Honestly the mouse input in this game is fucking trash too. Its almost as if keeps some sort of deadzoning enabled when in mouse+kb mode.
