Are the AvP games worth getting into?
I'm not too into the movie series, but the asymmetrical classes and fast gameplay makes it look really fun.
I'd mostly be getting it for single player and multi with a couple buds.

Black Mesa is a scam. Wait for it to be out of Early Access. If they remake the entire campaign then I'll recommend it, but until then they can fuck off.
Black Mesa was originally supposed to be a free remake of Half-Life 1, but then they released it on Early Access for cash. Since then development has been slower than ever, and the main focus seems to be on the multiplayer that nobody wants.

I just want to take a second to shill Mean Greens. I was one of the people in the threads getting all hype for it when it was coming out, and I also was disappointed when I actually played it. I actually wrote it a bad review and stayed active on the forums discussing the game's pros and cons, and what can be changed/fixed.
The lead developer on the project actually, not making this shit up, added me on Steam to go through my review and talk about certain criticisms in detail. I'm not like some reviewer or e-celeb or any shit like that, just a random nobody. So I thought it was really fucking cool that the developer would go to that length. He even gave me a free game key to gift to a friend, and I play with him occasionally.
Since release they've done stuff like upped the max team sizes and added shooting while jumping. Melting too. I can't commend the effort the devs are putting into the game, he also told me about a ton of really ambitious post-launch content they want to add.Unfortunately nobody plays so it probably won't matter in the end.

The first has the worst combat system ever created, but for some reason it's more addicting and just a better game.
Witcher 2 looks way better than W3 and the combat is perfect. Also since it's not open world but closed areas, everything feels better and you don't have to deal with garbage worlds like W3.

Download Soul Vizier mod. It's what I used on my first playthrough of TQ.
That said, it doesn't change the sameness of it all. I just put that down toHacknSlash being a boring genre.. Titan Quest has some really annoying click-delay as well; So many times I died while trying to backpedal because my character didn't follow commands. I'm pretty sure it also had to do with clicking on top of walls or unreachable terrain which happens A LOT thanks to the high-fucking walls that don't disappear until you're right beneath them..

I also don't know how you can be overleveled. Just go further into the world, facing higher level monsters.
The only serious problem wiith this game is stunlocking, or getting stunlocked for that matter. Which can cause problems when facing huge groups of monsters.

Transistor and Banner Saga have been my favorites from what I got this time. Both have been a complete blast.
Had high hopes for Ori, but it hasn't blown me away like I expected. Love the art and the idea of an owl being the antagonist just because she hates light so much, but it just feels like I've already jumped past spikes in plenty of games already.

Only picked up necrodancer so far and it's pretty fun. It doesn't have a much content and replayability as other competing roguelites which , and I a lot of them, which results in shorter play time before it gets repetitive but it is still well worth the money at this point. Also the soundtrack is godly as you would expect from Danny Baranowsky. Too bad they ask you to pay almost the price of the game to get the soundtrack separately in mp3s which is filthy jewery in my eyes and I pirated the soundtrack.
Endless legend is fun but only played it for a few hours so take that with a grain of salt. The soundtrack is amazing and you get mp3s with the game for free, there is also DLC with extra songs for the game + mp3s which is amazing music as well and it's priced very low. Plus points to the people who made it for not jewing the soundtrack.
Just finished axiom verge. I recommend it.
