Played the game on release. I thought it was a dungeon crawler like EO. You just keep getting lower and lower in that starting area.
Got to the blue bull boss in the dungeon and couldn't beat it, tried some subquest and couldn't beat it (turns out I was like 10 levels too low to beat it)
Kept reading the game was shit on /v/ too, so I dropped it. Picked it up when the sequel was announced due to people actually saying it was good after all.
