They're not exactly rare.
I definitely put the most money into DDR, but for actual arcade games my top three are
1.) Alien vs Predator
2.) Marvel Superheroes vs Street Fighter
3.) Metal Slug 3
I miss em.
>building arcade emulation machine
>light guns are over 100 bucks

I remember liking the x-men beat-em-up ad a kid, funny as I can stand beat-em-ups anymore. A few weeks ago a friend and I played third strike and MvC2 on actual machines in a arcade, that was pretty cool.

Yeah I know, but I mean like any common issues that should be checked out before buying one since I hear they can be a pain to repair
Mortal Kombat.
Here's me getting raped by Kano.
The best
I miss wrecking other eleven year olds back at the nickel arcade with my nigga Donovan. But I could never get past the 4th CPUI still really can't
>>321968818
House of the Dead. Any of them.
>>321970071
House of the dead 2 is legit.
My favorite is virtua cop. Been a while since I've seen it anywhere

>those pants
>arcades vanishing from almost all american cities
>only ones that exist will never get "new" games anymore, only acquire old ones from other dying arcades
>Dave and Busters is coming to town, but will probably only be ticket-shit and cost an arm and a leg
Japan isn't the only country with thriving arcades, is it? I dont fucking speak moon
>House of the Dead 2
>mfw putting money in both guns and dual wielding
Lucky & Wild
Sunset Riders
Alien Vs. Predator
Time Crisis
Gunblade NY/LA Machineguns
Those last two are particularly visceral, holding that giant lightgun as it recoiled like crazy. But Lucky & Wild holds a special place in my heart , what an awesome game
>>321970779
They're dead as fuck in the united states, but almost every other country is still thriving, especially eastern europe, south america, and all of asia
>>321970786
>Some kid does that on free-play day
>Spends over thirty minutes on the machine and wont share
>Doesn't even put them back in the holsters when he's done
Gauntlet II, this shit is still rad to this day.

You can practically play this on anything. Even on the gameboy
>>321970779
>dave and busters are popular
>actual arcades struggle to survive
fuck

>Gauntlet
Get that Gauntlet 4 in the Genisis. Best version, best soundtrack, best single player adventure mode of having to fight the 4 elemental dragons to seal up the dark lord after getting all of the magical rings to bypass the traps.
Like holy shit Gauntlet 4 was my jam.
Get Fightcade, a couple hundred arcade classics with good online functionality. KOF, SF, and MvC always have players online.
>>321971226
>couple hundred
u w0t?
>>321971417
Ok it looks closer to a hundred roms. I was guesstimating.
>>321971168
There was a gauntlet 4? and for the genesis? Oh shit thanks for telling me about this, totally gonna check it out
>>321968818
Local laundromat had Sunset Riders when I was younger. Me and my brother would play the shit out of it. It's gone now though, all they got is an Aliens side scroller and SF2 with a fucked up stick.
>>321970779
I can translate for you if you're interested in going to jabanland in summer. You're probably not but I'm just putting this out there that I fucking love Japan and the arcades it bolsters.
>tfw i don't live in japan where there are still arcades
I only play Project Diva Arcade

The best music the series had as well. Like they went all out with the game it's crazy. Full 4 player support, the all new adventure mode none of the other versions could bolster about, full soundtrack and voicework ( even if it's a bit more muddy ), and no real last to be seen. It's crazy how good it was.
Hard to pick a favorite one, but recently I've been playing Time Crisis 5 and Terminator Salvation, Tera Toma too.
>Go to arcade
>Lots of machines broken or defective because of misuse and stupid children
>>321972804
That art looks fresh. Is there a new game?
>>321972829
That's pretty shitty man. I'm thankful the arcades around here have like, 5-9 maintenance guys running around making sure everything's ok.
I had to explain what quartering up meant to some kids at a SFII acrade at my laundromat.

Turtles in Time
Capcom vs. SNK 2

My parents have a picture of me playing the turtles arcade too.
>Had the opportunity to buy a working Street Fighter II cabinet when I was 8
>For $20
>I had $20 in hand
>My parents had a truck
>Didn't want to help bring it home
Every time I think about it, my heart hurts.
>>321974815
