Had I backed this project, I would take the refund- not because I dislike the new visual style, which is definitely more appealing to me, but because this pretty much confirms that the game will never be finished. Because they have more money, the devs will continue adding things and modifying existing assets without finishing the game that they set out to make. This is the same thing that happens when kickstarters go way over their goal and start getting more and more ambitious.
