In 2011 PC gaming exploded, not in terms of games but in terms of people adopting the platform. Good developers were already leaving the PC platform in droves by then but it didn't matter because: STEAM SALES, GABEN, MASTERRACE, and by 2013 many had already been converted to PC gaming or had been partially brainwashed by off-hand talk about the platform for at least 5 years with zero competition beside last gen platforms.
Now come 2015 many who thought PC gaming was going to take off and be the next best thing are sitting around with their dicks in their hands trying to max multiplats to justify their purchases. Many fall deeper and deeper into the consumer hell-hole by continuously upgrading their hardware in the absence of games.
The PS4 on the other hand, built itself from the ground up, established relationships with many developers which resulted in securing software thus sparking more interest into the platform and this cycle continues.
PC are left with essentially a $5000 indie platform where as PS4 nets all the games.
