It's never said nor implied that she's a trap. The game only tells that she's some kind of outcast or freak, that she's kind of different. People only assumed she was trans even if it doesn't really make sense.

The Drakengard series is pretty much "What Could Have Been Great: The Games"
You keep thinking the next instalment is going to be legitimately good, but as is tradition it's a mediocre game that just about gets by on its uniqueness and niche but dedicated fanbase.
I suppose I can understand the obsession some people have for it, though. I mean Nier as a game exists because of one of the potential endings of the first game where the bad shit leaks into our world and the dragon is shot down by the Japanese Defence Force, transforming the world irrevocably? Shit's pretty original, so I can understand the interest.
