Yup, may years back.

Actually, I just watched Jurassic World earlier today (fucking awesome film) and I really do have a craving to get this again and play it.

Maybe I'll see if TT's JP game is on sale right now for my dino fix.

A few changes I would have made:
1. More attractions
2. More Visitor Center stuff
3. Having a food stand that only sells 1 thing is stupid, same with gift shops
4. Dinosaur petting zoos, visitors just freak out if Herbivores are within 20 feet of them.
5. The ability to make a coherent safari. Unless you did a "free range" sort of area, then it was very difficult to use the cars and if you drove the cars yourself, good fucking luck parking it.
6. Ludow is actually happy when you make money, instead of always pissed off.
7. Reduce number of twisters by 50%
>>
>>321918182

It is way better.

Everybody should give it a try, it is the best Jurassic Park game ever, and the mod community is still active to this day.
>>

>Jurassic World came out

>research to put more dinosaurs or other creatures into them
>make it possible to build different biomes

Why didn't they? Simple. The Jurassic Park Mobile Game makes way more money and has next to no effort than making a Operation Genesis 2.

How was this game so shitty and good at the same time?

I mean real talk, Dinosaurs not only look fucking damn good but also have fucking crazy good AI even without mods, plus everything in the game looks pretty damn good.

I'd put in an expanded economy. Ships and helicopters to transport food and tourists. You have to buy food and store it in werehouses. Buy the ships and aircraft, buy the fuel and store it in depos. Port buildings dedicated to accepting supplies. Trains and monorail systems. They can all break down.

And research branches to improving capacities.

You have to balance all expenses to have a successful park.

I just want a Jurassic Park FPS, set in the original park, or even the Jurassic World park, starting before the dinosaurs break out, and ending with the player escaping the island. Basically take Far Cry, put it on Isla Nublar, add a bunch of dinosaurs and buildings from the movie. Throw in some gimmicks like the 3D hacking scene. It's not complicated.

I think the SNES game was the best JP game made so far, and it wasn't anything special. You ran around and picked up eggs. Trespasser could have been great but completely fell apart in development for whatever reason. The Genesis and PlayStation had decent platformers, but you can only explore so much in a totally formulaic platformer. The Telltale game was apparently a mess of quick-time events. I didn't even bother playing it. What's left? A bunch of crap mobile games?

Jurassic Park remains completely untapped and it's over two decades old now. There's obviously money left in the series because the last movie made big bucks. Universal totally fucked up in this regard...
>>
>>321928883
So, you want an Autism Simulator, not a Dinosaur Park Simulator?

It's good for the first three episodes and absolutely falls apart during the last one. So Telltale standard pretty much. It's got REALLY good setpieces and production value though, not something like Walking Dead or Wolf Among Us where everyone stands around flatly talking and occasionally gets in a fistfight. The music is nice too. It FEELS like an extension of Jurassic Park, even if some other things about it aren't great.

Well, the Mesozoica devs have said that modding will be allowed. So maybe we'll see SC4 tier modding in a year after release.
>>
>>321944781
Let us all pray to the gods we may or may not believe in that the modding potentials will be like SC4 and or Cities Skylines
>>
>>321945016
They'd be stupid not to allow full range modding. Community fixes and whatnot.
>>
>>321945397
Plus community fixes means that they could implement the work of modders, from fixes to new ideas/dinosaurs that they didn't think about or weren't ready to add - IE a mod adds a dinosaur they were planning to add they can take it and then implement it.
>>
>>321945532
They'll likely do a few updates to improve stability and fix bugs, but they never reached enough in the kickstarter to do that insect expansion. Which is why full range modding should be included, the community can continue where they left off.
>>
>>321946220
And if game sales are good as well it can lead to them eventually doing the bug expansion, or taking the work of modders on it, tweaking it, adding it and then using it to release the insect expansion
>>

I was talking about plain old Jurassic Park for the SNES. The second game is a platformer. Jurassic Park had some good platformers, but I don't think a platformer really meshes with the movie well. I had fun with the platformers, but I would have liked an FPS more. Granted they really would have had to wait until about 1998 to do it right, that's when Unreal and Half-Life came out, and IMO those are the first engines that could have pulled it off.

Jurassic Park SNES was a top-down adventure game with intermittent indoor areas that were FPS (more similar to Wolfenstein than Doom.) I have the original cartridge. Basically you play as Grant, you explore the island, picking up ID cards to access new areas. The main goal is to find all of the dinosaur eggs and escape. I think it captured the style of the movie pretty well, but there wasn't really any interaction with people on the island.

I grew up in the 90s (not to invoke the meme,) Jurassic Park was my favorite movie and I collected all the ridiculous toys. Going on the ride at Universal Studios was just about the coolest thing ever. I rode it again a few years ago and still had fun.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=238NQoKI-tI

The series has a lot of potential in vidya they haven't cashed out on, for whatever reason. It's obvious there is still interest after the last movie.
