I know this is bait, but; Not quite. The setting is completely thoughtless and non-existant. The creator made this game with certain agendas in mind. Whether he 'cares' or not is irrelevant. The entire game was made with the mindset of it being succesful with internet kids, memers, casual gamers, fags, and furries, and it's completely suceeded. It just attempts to monetize on what's worked before in succesful games, but with some QUIRKY PROGRESSIVE TWEAKS to bring in the current generation. It is a product of it's time and five years from now people who finally come to their senses will look back on it with shame. Like the horse show

It's hardly a game. It's a minigame of dodging. Warioware games have more gameplay to them. People aren't obsesing over the game because of the gameplay, it's what I said before; furries, meme kids, etc, all like it because it has content relatable to them. It's a whisper of an answer to those fucking crybabies wanting a game that appeals to their special snowflake selves. If the game revolved around characters and a setting from something like Boxboy (something simple, basic, and about little else but the gameplay) but with the same gameplay, it wouldn't blow up like it has.

It's hated here because of the new autistic fanbase. Whether you like it or not, the game was made by a guy that likes games for people that like games.
I think that's something like what OP is trying to say. We're used to hating on all the corporate decisions, bullshit DLC practices and generally just dislike and hate what the medium has become because of old men in suits pretending they know what is best for games. We don't get games from a hardcore group of programmers who just wanna release something cool for game fans anymore.
Hate the game all you want, no amount of reason will stop the omnipotent /v/ shitposting and memes, but you have to at least admit that it's a good reason to at least respect it for what it is.
