Just received this email from steam.

Anyone else get one too?

Was just trying to sort through all the trash but they don't like it.
>>
Don't buy them then
>>
>>321913153
but it´s true. Refunds are for dis-functional products only.
>>
in other words your a ADHD ridden retard who makes stupid split second decision purchases and expects to be reimbursed for your own dumb actions every time and you are now mad a company has said hang on a minute, this guy can fuck off.

get rekt faggot
>>
>>321914212
except if you bothered to read the pic it clearly states otherwise.
>>
>>321915242
>you can
No I didn't.
Not even native English holy shit.
>>
That's just the fat fuck way of trying to illegally scare off you from refunding, ignore it
>>
Quit wasting money and just pirate games.
>>
I haven't received such an email from Valve, no. Probably because I haven't purchased and then refunded over 20 different games within the last week.
>>
>>321915874
5, all worth less then 5$
>>
How many times do you have to get burned by shitty indie trash before you realize that indie games are trash, OP?
>>
>>321916891
>refunded 2 games
>both of them were AAA
>>
>>321913153
For a legit reason I bet they do that for security reasons, someone gets into your account to refund all your games and steal your Gabenbux.

They will also prevent you from activating a bunch of shit in a row. Like you just redeemed a bunch of humble steam keys you had on and there is a limit on how many you can redeem in a day(15 maybe?).

>The first being that buggy piece of shit force unleashed, the other ducktales which is a shit remaster, die once go start the whole game over again lol
>They tell me to check the reviews next time and to fuck off.

No. I will pirate it first like I always do, funny enough force unleased ran better when I pirated it.
>>
The refund policy is deliberately written to allow you to refund games you end up disliking, but that doesn't mean they want you using it just to demo games.

It basically just means they'll give you the benefit of the doubt a few times, but if it looks like you're abusing the system (by refunding a lot of games) they'll revoke the privilege.
>>
>>321916891
Really, Steam should have a special section of their store devoted entirely to Indie Trash, and anybody stupid enough to buy that shit shouldn't be allowed to ask for a refund based on whether or not the game was good.
>>
>>321918205
It's called the Indie tag.
>>
>>321917487
>same gameplay as original
>shit remaster
>lol
>refunding $5 games
This is what /v/ has come to
>>
>and just didn't like it
It's like they want to lose money holy shit.
>>
Can you refund a game, then buy it again later?
>>
>>321919962
Yes
>>
>>321918965
Maybe dying and going all the way back was good in the 80s but not by today's standards.

Same reason double dragon neon flopped so hard.

Cool.
>>
>>321913153
lol
>>
>>321920252
Are you actually 12?
If the game wasn't hard it wouldn't be any fun and even a scrub like you would beat it in 1 hour
>>
>>321915313
>Not even native English
No wonder, was beginning to think you where retarded.
>>
>>321920252
bruh, they've added an easy mode with infinite lives and shitloads of health on ducktales just for you scrublords
>>
>>321916683
It doesn't matter the price, all their e mails are automated, they don't actually review any cases outside of "did you play it longer than two hours and did you buy it less than 14 days ago?" You refunded a bunch of games and so they sent out an email.
>>
>>321920382
how about making the game actually hard as a whole instead of forcing the player to replay parts they've already beaten
>>
>>321919136
Not at all. People take more risks when they know they can safely get their money back.
>>
>>321913153

Maybe if you had a way to try out games, I wouldn't spam you with refund requests, you fat fuck.
>>
>>321921669
gaben pls go
>>
Okay but, OP, seriously, why are you returning all those games? I mean I know you're complaining about the seemingly disingenuous policy subtly accusing you of piracy, but I mean
Are you?

The only reason they even offer refunds is because they originally didn't follow some consumer protection laws and got sued, not because they're being nice or some shit. They are illegally trying to bully you around, report this to whatever agency is available in your eurocuck country and raise a stink.

buy games that i wouldn't otherwise cos they're cheap, AS IS THE POINT OF SALEs.

as i wouldn't buy them otherwise and they are therefore more likely to be shit and many of them are. ie no online players, game is repeditive within 2 hours, despite steam reviews being largely positive.

refund as their website says. get this email.

How is this abuse? Everything is fair within their 'system'

I don't live in a euro poor country
>>
>>321913153
no and I've refunded 3 games in the past week.
>>
>>321917487
>ducktales which is a shit remaster, die once go start the whole game over again lol

You refunded a game because you were bad at it? Anon you don't need a refund you need to get better at video games.
>>
Any chance I'll get refund for the game I've bought quite a while ago an gt a decent amount of tim in it?
>>
>>321924606
Nope

Unless it's a scam game like that one that was technically impossible to finish the first level, and Valve itself had to intervene and refund everyone regardless of playtime
>>
>>321921109
How can you call any game with no setbacks for failure "hard"? If success is an inevitability, difficulty is meaningless.
>>
>>321924606
if you have more than 2 hours you're probably not going to get a refund unless you're like

>Game has unexplicable technical issue preventing me from finishing it. No solutions work. Dev unresponsive.

There is a tab in the refund section that says "the game is too hard" as a refund reason

I didn't, some fag trolled me into getting it on steam key dump threads
I even gave it a chance to see if /v/ was right about it being utter shit, and /v/ was right this time

The point is, you can try to set things right.
>>
>>321924036
>I don't live in a euro poor country

Actually, restricting refunds pretty much only applies to non-Europeans. Europeans can still just mail Steam and demand a refund and Steam HAS to give it under EU law. I've done this for years, even before there was an official refund system. They can't refuse.
>>
>>321913153
I got one similar, but it wasn't so hostile. It was more "Why don't you read reviews/etc".

I only refunded like 2 or 3 things across an entire week and a half

Just went into offline mode, opened Strider (which I never played before) for a couple minutes, closed it, restarted steam in online mode and this is what it says
>>
>>321928265
I've played Huniepop for a couple of days now on Offline mode and it says I have 4 hours in.

Maybe it has to be an hour or some minutes to count.
>>
>>321928132
well games not having demos is more the publishers fault than steams, really. but i agree.
i liked the whole shareware until activated with license key back then
>>
>>321928132

Publishers researched it and discovered that it's not in their best financial interests to offer demos of games, especially considering how shoddy and shitty most modern games are.

Dragon Age 2's demo literally saved me from buying that piece of shit, for example. If you have a SHIT game that you're relying entirely on marketing to move copies of, then it hurts you to let the customer get their hands on a demo copy and go HOLY FUCKING SHIT THIS IS SOME NASTIER SHIT THAN THE TACO BELL BATHROOM AFTER THEY'VE BEEN RUNNING A FREE REFRIED BEANS DEAL ALL DAY
>>
>>321928438
I played XCOM a decent amount in offline mode as well as normal mode, and it says I've only got 17.8 hours in it, but I'm sure I played more.
Just to be clear, I'm talking about this, not just appearing offline on your friends list.
>>
>>321928132
They are still around, it's just called early access and now you pay for them.
>>
>>321926079
I'm not fucking paying 80$+ for a goddamn videogame. For games to start getting this expensive, you'd best a damn videogame demo for your AAA titles.
>>
>>321926383
This reminds me that I need to go into my steam and remove Starbound.
>>
>>321927447
it counts it, but if you had two PCs you could play a game in offline mode on one and refund it on the other.
they'd find out when you eventually go back online with the offline PC though, who knows how they'd react.

>>321928598
But surely demos could be fantastic for marketing. Devs put most of the effort into the first part of the game to suck you in, anyway. Imagine a demo for skyrim. It would just have the opening portion with the dragon and up to the dragonstone. That's where the majority of effort went into the game.

Why am I still using skyrim as an example for anything. It's been 4 years.

I can pretty easily tell if I'll enjoy a game by skimming a youtube video for a minute, if the screenshots initially looked interesting. Is it really that difficult for you guys? I can't remember the last time I was disappointed by a game because it's so easy to know what to expect.

Why would you? Bad Rats is objectively the best game to ever grace our screens. The cast of loveable characters are written incredibly. The music score is a true masterpiece unmatched by any other musical score.

The gameplay is the pinnacle of fun, yet rewarding and most importantly challenging.

Your ignorance disgusts me.
>>

Steam was forced into it by the EU, "Lord Gaben" is not your friend at all
>>
>>321925025
conversely, anyone who complains about a game being "too easy" or about people wanting to play for fun instead of difficulty should be endlessly tortured day in and day out. If they believe that the only true way to live is with high difficulty, then that means they actively want life to be as difficult as possible right? So what they really want is to be constantly tortured with no hope of escape, that way their entire life is super hard mode. Being slowly tortured to death is the gift all hardcores truly want.
