>The lore is so deep!
>Dark Souls has such deep, meaningful, rich lore that rivals LOTR's!
>Dude, you have no idea how deep this games lore is, you just didn't figure it out
Daily reminder that the actual definition of "Lore" is knowledge/traditions passed down by word of mouth from person to person, none of which dark souls actually does, and that 80% of the shit the fans come up with is flat-out wrong.
Daily reminder that Skyrim has deeper lore than Dark Souls 1 and 2.

>"Lore" is knowledge/traditions passed down by word of mouth from person to person
Like speculation by players? About a game that's designed to hold various interpretations?
>>321824390
Daily reminder that OP didn't git gud.

>Like speculation by players? About a game that's designed to hold various interpretations?
Oh gee, if that's what it is, then every single game on the planet has the deepest lore ever yo!
Tomb Raider's nudey cheat must be the most deep lore in gaming history!
>>321824525
>designed to hold various interpretations
>those various interpretations were proven wrong when Dark Souls 2 came out and fanboys cried all over the world
>>321826314
DaS2 is cancer, saying it retroactively makes the earlier games' lore bad is like saying the Prequels ruined Episodes IV and V
>>321824525
Maybe, but Skyrim has plenty of stories, sites, and people in it that are left up to interpretation.
Maiq the Lair is one example.
>>321826551
Just pointing out the stupidity of using that as an excuse for why Dark Souls' lore isn't half-assed and thrown in as an after-thought.
Other games are better at keeping their lore open to interpretation, like >>321826781
>>321826551
>fans legitimately get angry that their stupid fan theories are shut down so that they can actually make room for more legitimate lore with a proper sequel
They're about as autistic as Star Wars fans I'd say, when they all freaked out about "muh expanded universe" now becoming non-canon.
>>321824608
>git gud
>>321824525
Does that mean movies have the deepest lore of any medium?
>Words can have different meanings when used in different contexts
Wow, who would've thought
>>321824390
ahh yes. the dark souls salt threads, wouldnt feel right without them. god bless From Software
>>321828782
>Dark Souls fanboys use lore as a vague, nebulous word to make excuses as to why they played through the same, linear, artificially difficult game twice
wow who would've thought.
>>321829018
OP here, I already beat it though. Literally a 3/10 story, with 9/10 gameplay.
>>321824390
>Skyrim
>Good lore
All these criticism threads seem so minuscule despite their validity when I look back on that solid year and a half where Dark Souls 1 threads ruled /v/.
But is it as deep as Marios lore?
>>321829576Lets get this shit started
>>321829401
A mix of neo /v/ and the "hate games to bandwagon on a Himalayan cowhide picture fourm" crowd.
And made 1 or e posts with an actual well thought and worded opnion.
>>321829370
Say what you want about the main quests, the lore is actually very well written, and to the first responder, there is a lot of it where there are two sides telling the same story, or it's left open to interpretation on purpose.
Dark Souls was written with the gameplay in mind, all of the fluff is just given an ad-hoc meaning and description and fans went nuts over it thinking it's deeper than it is.
>>321829739
>Lore is well written
The only good parts were the parts taken from Morrowind.
>>321829996
That's ironic, considering Morrowind is the least interesting region of Tamriel. Even Solstheim has better lore than Morrowind.

>2013 was three (3) years ago

>that girl bent over showing her panties
Is that an /a/ meme?
