That one guy's DKC levels are pretty fun but such a step in difficulty from the originals. It has made me realized that I am much more comfortable with the gameplay of the Donkey Kong Country games, old and new, than the Super Mario Bros. games (or at least Super Mario World). I'm not even that great at DKC, either.

Well, I guess I'll shill just to keep the thread alive.

This is the start to a megaman-esque campaign I've been making. Play the boss stages in any order and then take on the wily castle, but be forewarned the older stages are pretty out of date(don't even have checkpoints). Many of the levels will be reworked soon when I finally get around playing again so tell me if you find something you want changed.

Wily 3 still hasn't made much progress, but I am bookmarking things in these threads for when I do get back to mario maker.

We're one and the same man. Wish there was a DKC maker although it makes sense why not since Mario can get away with it being mostly blocks.

Hey now, I know some of my levels can be difficult, but I always make sure to have checkpoints and powerups just like the original levels had. I also try to make sure that levels that were hard in the original games are hard here, and ones that were easy in the original games are easy here. Also, I am pretty much running out of difficult levels completely to make.

What makes them easier in DKC is that the roll jump eliminates the need for super precise jumps and the only enemies that you can't roll into won't give you much long term trouble.

Description: A dungeon themed platformer with traps, tricks, perilous jumps, puzzles, and a boss fight, all worthy of our favorite Hyrulian Hero.

After some feedback the stage has been scaled back in difficulty a bit, but be aware as the stage progresses it does get a little harder. It's challenging, but not impossible. A little trial and error, like many dungeon videogames, will get you through. Checkpoints will be your saving grace. Stop, look around, and think. There's a solution to all problems. There are also some pretty nasty tricks, so be patient.

protip- The hanging sticky ghosts? Stop moving and they'll pass right over you.

Already played your easy one, so I decided to try your hard one.

Its a strange feeling, it feels really easy to me actually, but there's just this one part where, I know what I need to do, cause there is only one way TO do it, and yet, I keep dying. There's also tons of X's there too. I just couldn't figure out what to do, which happens with me sometimes. Even still, its a great level.

How do I check where people are dying constantly? Can you describe the area?

There's the part with the two fireball streams, and a thwomp you bait. After you bait him, you wait out the fireballs and run and jump. There is a small space where it seems like you can duck while running to squeeze through with a powerup, but the thwomp after would just kill you for slowing down, so you tank the hit and run and don't stop. There's a stream of coins, so its a obvious "hey dummy, run and follow to coins to not get thwomped". In this situation, all you can do is follow the coins and jump where needed. However, the first angled jump after the one space pits has a arc of coins showing where to jump, but when I jump and land all the coins, the edge of the thwomp kills me. That single thwomp edge has to have like 30 X symbols on it. I just dunno what to do there, I guess I'm just not running fast enough? I just dunno.

Yeah that thwomp was a bit of a doozy. I was debating whether or not to remove it at first because most players wouldn't react fast enough to it but I kept it in as a rude "fuck you".

Odds are you were running at full speed, that's fine. You jumped too high. That thwomp is mean though.

Coins aren't a lie, you just jumped at the wrong height. follow the coin trail but before you reach maximum height just let go of the b button and you should be good. it's the kind of thing where you have to adjust height midair without slowing your momentum

Pic is the level map, everything is present plus more. Starts out medium all the way to hellish difficultly by Ptolomea (hardest area) and Satan at the end. Takes around ~400+ seconds S to G (v. long)

Nevermind, I figured it out. I really just wasn't running fast enough. I can just full height and make it just fine. Dunno what you were talking about when it comes to jumping.

It is rather funny how they keep shunting her to the side. Pretty neutral towards the character I guess, I did like SML. Daisy and Shy Guy were my favorites in Mario Tennis 64, but that's just cause I liked their playstyles. Also preferred her visual look in that game as well to the current one.
