If you want a medieval fantasy similar to The Witcher, Dragon's Dogma and/or Dark Souls 1 are pretty baller and definitely worth a go. Though if you haven't played The Witchers 1 and 2, I'd do those first.

Passed it like 7 times, probably twice with the full combat rebalance mod on insane difficulty. I even bought the fucking novel The Last Wish. The world itself is what sucked me in.
