DS2 was great.
For me BB was too easy for a souls game. Base game was worse than DaS2 for me. But it was enjoyable nonetheless and in my opinion has the best DLC which makes it the best singleplayer souls.
But for meDaS2 Scholaris best.
By the way BB has best waifu all other waifus are shit. I'm not talking about the doll she is hot shit. I'm talking about best waifu which helps you with pic related.

my brother didnt like that much it as well.
he likes tanky or mid armor characters, the safety of a shield and the variety. he went through ds2 several times because of that.
instead im fond of the hunt theme, the weapons are dope as fuck, better than anything i've seen in des to ds2. ive always only used the cover armor, so the moment i found the hunter suit in the sewers i was really happy just with that.
bb is generally shorter, but def a more impactful experience

I got a mid-high PC, Wii U, N3DS and PS4.PS4 and Wii U are the regret purchases
Dark souls 2 had a bigger area and more enemy varieties to explore and much more build to play with as aswell and more customization. Most of the early basic enemies appear all the way through the game, and the only ranged items are bullets where you are limited to 20 bullets maximum.
Magic and miracles were 10x better and you know it.
Combat feels so much more clunkier than DaS2.
Aswell as the lack of variety/customization adding very little to replay values.
DaS2 has more NPCs, Quests and a better environment it felt like a black and white grimdark game throughout.
Completed it once and never again.

I think my biggest problem was the universal charge attacks. Why the fuck would they do that, where every weapon has a super powerful attack that doesn't even require commitment since you can release it early? And a lot of those attacks even knock down on top of having the best reach and stagger of any one hit for the weapon, while doing tons more damage.
Stuff like that just made a lot of things feel too similar.
