The game simply controls like ass, in particular the second part of the levels where you are on foot. It should have been a Wii U game with double stick controls.
It takes some time to learn but the controls allow for a lot more precision in combat. Give it until mission 4 before you completely decide.

It's the "best" control scheme for a shooter that demands precision and speed. It's awkward as hell, but it gets better over time.
Same with most of Sakurai's games really. Smash, Air Ride, even Meteos have weird controls that somehow make sense after playing.

I know, that is why I kept the default controls instead of using the anolog stick + X Y B A. It just that I think it is unconfortable as fuck. Maybe it is bebause I have an XL and the game was made with the original 3DS in mind?
Are people unable to hold the 3DS with their left hand and use the stylus with their right? I had no trouble picking the game up, and even if I did I'd probably get it right after the first few levels. I don't get how people can get so hindered by such a simple and straightforward control scheme.
