csgo has two sub communities within the playerbase
the first group is the pros and all the people who play the game at a higher level and take it seriously and enjoy improving, they're generally some rank above dmg and play on faceit or ESEA, they understand the game's failing, and they understand where it shines, they don't scream RNG because they know how to control recoil and spray
the second group is the shitters, they only ever play comp through valves official matchmaking, they think the awp is overpowered and broken yet think the r8 was the best thing to happen to the game, they thing every bullet they fire is luck whether it hits or misses, they are your typical /v/ poster
one group has fun with the game, the other group plays it constantly but utterly hates it
the group you're in will determine your enjoyment

I'd say BO3 if you want a more relaxed casual game. If you want to play CS GO and enjoy it you will need to actually get gud or face the shit pub matches. BO3 is fairy easy for kills and sort of chill I guess, if you like that kind of thing. But I'd only recommend it for anything not PC as PC is both buggy and dead.

Well if that is what you want i would definitely say BO3. It is just generic FPS killing really. It feels nice but it isn't spectacular. You should be able to sink a few hours into it every now and again and have an okay time. I feel as though CS GO wouldn't be as fun playing it with that mentaility, you have to like, try for that game.

Not only is it cheaper but you have many more game modes to choose from
Anything that isn't TDM or domination is fucking dead on BO3.
You should honestly consider rainbow six siege over Black ops 3 if you REALLY want an actual choice here.
And I'd probably still suggest CS:GO based on pricing, but at least siege is something different, gameplay wise.

There is RNG though, the first shot accuracy comes in a cone, the further you are away the bigger is the circle where the bullet CAN hit, this can be a deciding factor when you shoot from A long pit to the bomb spot on dust 2 but doesn't really matter most of the time because you aren't on a distance that far.
Some guns don't have this cone however, like the SG553 and AUG while zoomed in and the AWP, the scout has it surprisingly.

Play the game, bullets fly in cones, try out the USP-S which is basically a laserbeam and shoot from a long distance into a wall without moving.

Most players don't give a shit about prize pool tournaments, just like most poker players or the same with playing other video games. They play because it has lots of players. Thus, they literally play because it's popular.
