Any clothing or equipment you get wouldn't have the psychic effect on it, so somebody would notice if the Asari clothing wasn't shaped the way the Asari are. You get a shitload of different armors for Liara in ME 1.
The husks the Reapers make of Asari in ME 3 don't have any reason to look hot anymore, but they just look like dried up Asari.
It's obvious it's just a throwaway gag, but if you wanted to attach some meaning to it I suppose each race is probably just choosing to place emphasis on the parts that most resemble their own species, the Turians the head crests, tha Salarians the skin, etc. I wouldn't doubt that there's probably some psychic effect making others find the Asari more attractive than they might normally, but it makes no sense that everyone is seeing a species that looks totally different.
