This is the one that kills me.
>>321726378
Fucking EDF 2017 after beating inferno man
>>321726378
That's what OP just said
>>321726034
>the most difficult setting is dlc

Perfect Dark on the 360Arcade
Fuck you I want my special bonus missions.
>Beating the game on Normal unlocks Hard
>Beating the game on Hard unlocks Easy
>UNLOCKS EASY
At that point, Normal is so god damn easy for the player, why do you WANT an easy mode!?
>raising the difficulty just turns enemies into damage sponges
>>321727994
never heard of/experienced this
>beat game on hard
>unlocks harder game mode with smarter enemies
>enemies can open doors and waterfalls
>>321728061
Pic was related. Megaman Legends. Amazing game but the logic in that decision still evades me.
>>321726034
>Beating the game on Normal unlocks Hard, and beating it on Hard unlocks Dante Must Die mode.
>Beating Dante Must Die mode unlocks Super Dante with unlimited Devil Trigger and breaks the game.
>Achievement for playing on hardest difficulty
>Highest difficulty is locked

>Enemies can open doors and waterfalls
>Enemies can open waterfalls
What the actually fuck? What game is this and how/why are they opening waterfalls!?
>>321727780

Upgrades became half off (if not more). Made it more reasonable to upgrade your weapons. Not like you needed to with the easy blaster or whatever it was called.
>have to beat the game with 4 different characters on 4 difficulties
>the trophies don't stack difficulties
>'Beat' the game on Easy or Normal
>Don't actually beat it, get a message saying to play on a harder difficulty to play the rest of the levels and see the end
I think the game that did this was The Lion King on SNES and Genesis, but I'm not positive. I know I played a game that did this, though.
>>321728690
But everything was affordable on Normal and Hard and the special "easy buster" whatever it was upgrade made pretty much everything else obsolete.
>To Unlock impossible
>Beat very hard
>Beat hard
>Beat medium
>Beat easy
>Beat Very Easy
>Beat off yourself
>>321729084
>But everything was affordable on Normal and Hard
Was it? I remember grinding forever with the vacuum equipped in those small dungeons that popped up near the end of the game. Was taking so long I just upgraded the laser and beat it. I remember easy mode requiring barely any grinding to get the money to upgrade everything.
>>321729045
IIRC, X-Men and Spider-Man (both on Genesis) did that too.
>Beat normal / easy
>Unlock chapter select
>Finish the last chapter on hard / last checkpoint on hard
>Unlock rewards for finishing hard mode
So many games allow this, I'm surprised it works so often.
>Kill an enemy in easy, get 1000 points
>Kill an enemy in very hard get 100 points
>harder difficulties add more objectives to complete in the level

Castlevania 64
Fuck Castlevania 64
>>321729045
The Jungle Book on SNES did this as well. I struggled with that game as a kid and couldn't beat the Kaa level to save my life. But, when I finally did I was greeted with a black screen, telling me to play on normal to play the rest of the levels. Shit almost made me cry.
The game isn't even hard, but back then it kicked my ass.
>Dying once unlocks easy difficulty
>Dying again automatically switches to it
>Game has multiple difficulty levels that modify enemies' levels

>Game is fundamentally the same with higher numbers after the first dungeon

What is literally every uncharted game. I seriously don't understand how this series is so well regarded.
>dying automatically lowers the difficulty, costs you points and decreases the stats of your loot
>>321732137
>dying automatically increases the difficulty
>>321730148
More games need to do this instead of making the enemies bullet sponges.
Fucking Goldeneye man.
>>321729045
>beat the game on the hardest difficulty

>also you missed out on an invulnerability component for the entire game
fucking painkiller

What cancerous developer would do this?
>>321729045
tons of nes and snes era games did this

>doing well increases the difficulty
>doing poorly decreases the difficulty
I love Lvl DIE
>have to beat medium difficulty to unlock hard
>have to do the same with hard to get expert

Why?
>>321732412
As far as I know only Demon's Souls and Dark Souls II do this
>>321726034
>RPG doesn't have a new game plus

>>321729045
>>321733791
This. Every RPG should have a new game plus. Companies like Square Enix are fucking idiots. It's not fun to play a 100 hour+ game over from scratch.
>>321731148
because It does what we have always wanted and cried out for which is a Indiana Jones/Lara croft game and Nathan Drake was our guy and they are fun. I mean it's literally Lara Croft with Indiana Jones going on adventures to hunt for legendary treasures and myths.
>Every difficulty level makes enemies more and more damage-spongey

Bless you, SotE.
