Yes all the DLC is fantastic. Everyone has they're least favourite but don't let that put you off playing any of them. My personal favourite is OWB even though everyone told me it was shit before I played it.

Why would you pay for this piece of shit? It's laughably easy by the time you get to Novac and half of the locations are one room copy pasted shacks. At least 3 had some meat on it
Small increase in price is worth it just to spend more time in the game, even if the DLC isn't spectacular. Plus you get extra guns and shit at the start.
Dead Money is horrible, don't even play it

Everyone seems to have a different listing of what DLC they think is great and what DLC they think is terrible. Strange thing is, you get wildly different opinions from different anons. For example, I love Dead Money but hated Lonesome Road, but others will say the exact opposite and mean it.
That means that, no matter what you're into, you're probably going to love the shit out of at least one of the DLCs. Anyway, they're so cheap that you might as well get them, and a lot of really cool mods rely on them.

It's pretty easy to make money if you're just very thorough about exploring and looting everything of value; in most games I start with 1 charisma and invest nothing in barter, but I still scrounge up enough valuable weapons and ammo to clean out every vendor. Repair will help you make money even more than barter, since it lets you combine all the junk into a few valuable items. Once you get the jury rigging perk you can fix valuable items with any trash you find, and money becomes a complete non-issue.
Do you use vendors to repair your equipment? Because that shit's comically overpriced and you should never do it. Seriously, git u sum jury rigging in yo life.

Get Ultimate Edition, but either disable Couriers Stash or get a mod that integrates it into the game properly. Otherwise, you'll get a ton of weapons and armor at the start of the game for free.
I recommend getting the dlc, the evil toaster is my favorite character of any video game lol
