The throne is a legend that's passed around the mutants. They're living in this nuclear shithole and the throne is either known as what caused the nuclear holocaust or what could end it, so they want to reach the throne in the hopes of breaking this shitty cycle they live in.
But in truth, none of the mutants really know what getting to it will do for them, except possibly Rogue. They just want to reach it because it's the last bit of hope they have.

Here's the trick, either bait him into shooting one way or the other, then dodge out of the way
Or stand close to him so he uses his charge move and bullfight him.
Either way, the trick is to take advantage of the long pauses in his attacks and his inability to change direction while shooting.
Once you've beaten him a few times it'll be commonplace to kill him before he gets in two attacks.

Daily runs are you see as far as you can go on one try, once per day with the character of your choice. Then you get put on a leaderboard.

I just replayed and killed him without trouble. First few times I had bad luck with the map, it was pretty open and he spawned next to me so I was stuck between him in an open area or a path filled with enemies. Later I had a map with more empty roads and I could grind him down at my leisure.

1. you pick your own weapons, the game offers you plenty of weapon choices. if you don't like random spread, pick Eagle Eyes or don't pick up weapons with big spread.
2. they don't "randomly" charge, they (don't know what enemy in particular you mean) use their charge when you're in range, so don't be. peek around corners, take potshots, kill enemies from 2 screens over if you want to.

"a dark corner"? what are you talking about, it's an almost top-down game? even in transition levels like the sewers or dark cave, you can see 90 percent of the screen. you are ALWAYS able to look around corners.

again, stick to cover. dodging is great, but you shouldn't need to dodge if you properly use walls and corners wherever possible.
also, tells. many enemies have sound effect when they charge up an attack (the crystals even have a visual indicator).

i assume you mean a crystal spider from 4-1? in a narrow hallway you can easily kill those, because they can't do their erratic fast movement.
super alligators only appear in the sewers and there are no purely long hallways in the sewers, there'll be a little block jutting out, providing cover.

nothing about the enemy behavior in this game is random, they all operate on routines that are fairly easy to figure out and exploit. snowbots for example won't charge you unless they see you and you're within a certain range.

this can be because the game is not purely top-down. the "top" of a piece of wall is not cover. it's supposed to represent a 3d space, but your character is 2d sprite hitbox. so as soon as your head is over let's say a corner to the left from a path leading up, enemies can trigger a charge attack, even though you can't even fire yet (Because weapons fire from the middle of your sprite). it can happen that you walk too far, because you're not used to that.
the best way to deal with this is to always keep your weapon aimed and ready, have a panic weapon.

take it slow, Nuclear Throne has no time limit.

the windup is really only useful if you have a melee weapon (besides screwdriver) so that you can reflect their shots. luckily their shotguns have limited range, so just backpedal immediately and you should be fine.

Smart Gun's a little sketchy. I personally like it from time to time, but it works on proximity rather than priority where it hurts (normal levels), and priority over proximity where it's not needed (the Throne). I'd hold out for a Hyper Rifle or even a Heavy Machine Gun.
Also, Recycle Gland is underrated. Really useful for keeping yourself from running out of ammo, and it make bullet weapons somewhat viable for things other than cleanup post-loop.

Smart Gun is Quick, but you don't have anything to make the mediocre gun better. Plus, you can't rely on the auto-aim in a clutch situation in say the Frozen City. Dmg output isn't good enough to rely on your super crossy anyway.
