So Sony got basically for free what Nintendo is always struggling to do with their stranglehold on their myriad IPs: securing sales by being the one with the games. Especially this gen where the blockbuster AAA titles not only are in full swing (MGSV, GTA5, Fallout 4, etc) but are all third party, so the multiplat's where the interest is at.
