Hey /v/, what're you playing?

The weather outside is abysmal here, so I think I'll stick to something cozy like watching my fiefs in M&B rise in prosperity for now.

Monster Hunter 3U currently.

Not sure if I want to finish up Rune Factory 4 before the year ends but at least I'm finishing my backlog.

I'd be welcoming the snow if there was any in sight.

How's Monster Hunter?

I'm sorry that your thread hasn't taking off with a rocket start tonight op so I will help you with a bump. Tonight the weather is warm and I am currently playing a game called State of Decay. Some survival based vidya that surrounds itself in you playing as multiple characters set on trying to survive the day after. With the collection of supplies and what not. I am currently on the look out for more food while hunting zombies with a suppressed 308. hunting rifle, its pretty fun.

Really fun but I did spent a ton of time on 4U so I'm just hunting whenever the mood hits since I stopped playing 3U after 4U released. Hunting with /v/ and /vg/ is comfy and really tense.
>>
>>321627068

No need to be sorry. Sometimes they don't take off at all, I just go elsewhere at that point for a while. I've heard interesting things about it, but how many hours have you put into it thus far?

>>321627139

>Hunting with /v/ and /vg/ is comfy and really tense

I can imagine. There seems to be a fairly active community of people playing MH on this board.
>>
>>321627552
I'm just saddens to see a thread that starts on clearly good intentions only to die silently without anyone knowing of it. But in regards to SoD? Yeah its an alright game pretty bug filled mind you I've been putting some 400+ hours into the original 360 version of it. Lost a lot of cars to the game engine glitching out or zombies getting dragged under the wheels causing me to flip.

Currently on Breakdown mode which is essentially just the sandbox mode that allows me to play the game at my own pace which consists of me scaving, shooting, slicing and just overall surviving in the Turnbull Valley the games location. Actually been thinking of upgrading to the YOSE version on the Xbone but I have heard some conflicting reports about it from other users so I may just wait around a bit longer before going for it.

The same happens to shitpost threads all the time. I'm not the only one experimenting with different kinds of opening posts to figure out what works to make people interested.

Anyway, would you say the bugs are egregious enough to make the game boring?

Hey there OP. I'm actually looking for something comfy to play too. Thinking of booting up Paper Mario 64 again, but I kinda want a new experience. Any suggestions?
>>
>>321628328
Yeah thats the thing with shitposting threads is how easy it is to just start a fight with everyone instead of trying to reply in a somewhat positive manner. Its easier to insult someone then it is to compliment them.

Worst ones I have personally would be along the lines of fallen through the road one day with losing a serviceable truck with a trunk load of much needed supplies in the back and getting stuck inside a rock surrounded by bloaters. Aside from that screen tearing, texture pop ins and shit for brains AI are some of the usual problems I am having to deal with on a daily basis. I still enjoy it but sometimes I do wish this didn't have to happen as much as it does.

>>321628675
Adding to this Bloaters are fat gas bag pricks that waddle around in their underwear just waiting to fart on you. The gas itself is dangerous because its flammable, it chews away your health and stamina like a motherfucker and if you don't have the required facilities to deal with the gas your survivor can either die or become infected and your other survivors back at the home base.

Comfy games? Recettear's fun if you like a bit of math running a store and some dungeoncrawling on the side.

Can thoroughly recommend SquareCells as well if you're the kind of person who enjoys Minesweeper but want an expanded ruleset.

>>321628675
>>321628908

Sounds like it might be worth a play sometime, then. Thanks!
>>
>>321629196
If you do consider it would be better for you to just jump straight to the YOSE version instead of trying to double dip with it. And if you can try to get it on PC as well since mods will make the game even more playable with expansion on the facilities in the way of ammo and snack creation, bug fixing and other benefits that come with playing in on PC.
>>
>>321629415

Yeah, I noticed they don't sell the normal version anymore on Steam.

I'm primarily a PC guy anyway, so that won't be a major issue.

Good to hear. Inquisition isn't the worst if you ever find the enthusiasm for it - gets very grindy if you want to do the side objectives, but gameplay-wise it's a nice middle-ground between 1 and 2.

State of decay is kinda boring though. All the missions are the same thing in the main storyline, and my base is so stocked with goods that I don't need loot anymore.

But I have an issue, I believe Snyder trucking is the largest base, but I can never have enough beds for everyone. Unless I start breaking down my med lab, watch tower, kitchen, or something else important so I just let myself get tired.

I'm loving divinity though.

Zixzax and the homestead area are comfy as fuck.

But I brought that demon hunter from cyseal with me and he does so much damage but his personality is so irritating. He's a big fucking cunt about everything crying about how it's all made by demons and shit and I can't stand it.

I saved some citizens life and he was mad about it saying that his life didn't matter and all we should be doing is hunting demons.

Really ruining my comfy feels here but he does hella damage and has a heal so I'm not sure I want to abandon him yet.
>>

Cold, nasty and rainy here, so I bought Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. The camera controls are a little annoying (mapped to left thumbstick) but it's fucking great for a budget arcade beat em up. Lots of fun.
>>
>>321635382
Oh. I also have underrail installed in my backlog but I gotta get through divinity first.

State of decay is more of a casual fuck around game for me since the story is unrewarding.

I've heard most people just go straight to the sandbox and skip the story anyways.
>>
>>321635382
A vast majority of the shit ingame outside of the main storyline is randomly generated bullshit like zed hunts, distractions, infestations etc so it does become inane after a while. But most of that change in Breakdown since you may have to deal with upwards of 20-40+ zombies at any one time dependent on your level.

The Synders Trucking is the best base in game on the account of its machine shop, outpost count and general location but how many survivors do you currently have at the moment? Anything over 16 and you are just asking for more bullshit in regards to attitudes and general babying of the temperamental survivors.

Playing through FFIX for the first time.

Midway into disc 2 and having a really good time. It's really nice looking for a ps1 game, music is super comfy, and the characters and story seems well written. I'm liking the battle system, with how abilities work it's surprisingly fun getting new equipment and tinkering with different skills.

I actually bought the physical version a couple years ago, and while I have a backwards compatible ps2 I never got into it. I recently tried out emulating on my pc for kicks and after playing through FFXII IZJS (Beautiful emulated btw, check it out) I decided to give IX a try. Turns out I can play it from the disc, which is pretty nice, I've got a ton of other ps1/ps2 games that I want to try emulating.

The only bad thing is that I'm seeing some minor stuttering and I'm not sure if it's the emulator or my pc.

Subjectively 10/10, because I really like how it feels and looks, and because it's really easy to mod and I like fiddling around with gamefiles (those dark lighting settings in the first screenshot are custom, vanilla looks like pic related). The devs seem pretty cool, too.

But it's still lacking a lot of the planned core mechanics and I can see how other people wouldn't get as much out of the game as me.

So I guess I'd say it's a MEGA/10
