Except no one's credit card info was stolen. All info was kept in the same server, which was hacked. They're not sure what was taken, but no one ever came forward to say their credit card info was stolen. In all likeliness, nothing was actually taken and the only thing the perpetrator got was account info, similar to the valve decision. But I guess it's cool to hate PlayStation.

large amounts of card numbers are not uncommon to be lost, but usually the people who grab them arent the ones who use them. you collect as many as you can and you sell them to someone else.
banks are pretty quick to catch stuff like that anyways, especially after the information of the leak is made aware to them.
